The Leadership Challenge

Difficult leadership moments require more than good intentions.

Leaders are often expected to communicate clearly, address concerns, maintain trust, strengthen accountability, and keep work moving forward, all at once. That becomes especially difficult when:

  • A needed conversation keeps being postponed
  • Someone is not following through
  • Resistance is slowing an important change
  • Conflict or tension keeps resurfacing
  • Expectations are unclear or misaligned
  • A team is under increasing pressure
  • A decision affects people with different priorities
  • The leader feels mentally drained, reactive, or uncertain

In these moments, knowing leadership principles isn’t always enough. Leaders need a way to slow the situation down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, determine what responsible leadership requires, and prepare a next move that is both courageous and thoughtful.

Why This Intensive Is Different

Leadership grows through practice, not information alone.

This is not a webinar, lecture, or passive professional development session. Leaders don’t simply learn about courageous leadership. They practice it.

01

Applied

Participants work on a current leadership challenge, not a hypothetical case.

02

Structured

A clear process moves leaders from pressure toward clarity and action.

03

Practical

Tools built for meetings, difficult conversations, and accountability.

04

Guided

Facilitation, reflection prompts, and space to test your thinking.

05

Transferable

Frameworks you can use again the next time conflict shows up.

What You’ll Experience

Four hours of applied leadership practice.

During the intensive, you’ll move through facilitated learning, individual reflection, practical application, and leadership planning. You will:

  • Select one meaningful leadership situation to work through
  • Identify what has made the situation difficult to address
  • Examine the values, responsibilities, and expectations involved
  • Recognize emotional pressure and regain leadership steadiness
  • Diagnose the sources of resistance, tension, or misalignment
  • Consider the perspectives and needs of key stakeholders
  • Prepare a conversation, message, decision, or next step
  • Build a practical plan for moving the situation forward
You Named the Moment. Now Learn How to Move Through It.

During The Courageous Leader webinar, we explored how to Name the Moment instead of avoiding it or reacting to it. The intensive helps you move through the full Courage to Move Framework™, giving you a structured, repeatable process for navigating high-stakes leadership moments with greater clarity and confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

What to know before you register.

Do I need to attend The Courageous Leader webinar before registering?
No. The C3 Leadership Intensive is designed to stand on its own. Those who attended The Courageous Leader will recognize concepts such as Name the Moment, but every participant is guided through the full Courage to Move Framework™.
Is this coaching?
No. The C3 Leadership Intensive is a facilitated professional learning experience, not individual coaching or consulting. You’ll learn practical frameworks, apply them to your own leadership challenge, and leave with tools and a plan you can immediately put into practice.
What kind of leadership challenge should I bring?
Bring one current challenge involving communication, conflict, resistance, accountability, change, team alignment, or a high-stakes decision. You may keep identifying details confidential and describe the situation generally.
Will I have to share my challenge with the full group?
No. You decide how much you share. The intensive includes private reflection, guided application, and structured partner practice, but participants are never required to disclose sensitive or confidential information publicly.
How much time will be spent in breakout rooms or partner activities?
Partner activities are structured, focused, and time-limited. They’re designed to help you apply the tools, not place you in long or unstructured breakout discussions.
Is this appropriate for both experienced and emerging leaders?
Yes. Experienced leaders gain a practical process for navigating complex situations, while emerging leaders build a repeatable approach for handling pressure, communication, conflict, and decision-making with greater confidence.
Will the session be recorded?
No. Because the intensive includes live application, participant discussion, and partner practice, a recording will not be provided. Participants should plan to attend the full live experience.
Will continuing education credit be available?
Yes. SHRM Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits will be offered to eligible participants who attend the live intensive. Instructions for claiming credit will be provided before the event.
What is the cancellation or transfer policy?
Registrations may be transferred to another participant with advance notice. Additional cancellation and refund terms will be provided during the registration process.
